A little story about a big dream

Some dreams
are worth the wait.

Five days, one determined trip to the delivery hub, and a moment I’ll remember for a lifetime. This is how my MacBook Air finally found its way home.

SCROLL TO THE STORY

THE LONG WAY HOME

A five-day wait.
A lifetime of meaning.

For some people, it’s just a laptop. For me, it carried years of wishing, working, and believing that one day I’d get to bring one home.

FRI 09 OCT
7:25 PM · ORDER PLACED

The “what if” became a “yes.”

I placed the order on Flipkart. Nearly ₹1.9 lakh for one laptop is a huge decision when you come from a middle-class family. I knew exactly how much this moment meant.

MON 12 OCT
THE FIRST DELIVERY ATTEMPT

Plans changed. The waiting began.

The delivery was attempted earlier than expected. I asked to reschedule for Wednesday, the 14th—but after a frustrating experience with another delayed delivery, I worried the same silence would happen again.

WED 14 OCT
MIYAPUR · THE DELIVERY HUB

If the laptop wouldn’t come to me, I’d go to it.

I finished my calls, headed to the hub, and hoped the morning team’s promise would hold. By evening, there were still too many parcels and not much help. I recorded what I saw and shared it online. A bot replied on Twitter; Instagram felt like the only way to make the moment heard.

WED 14 OCT
7:25 PM · FINALLY HOME

Five days later. Right on the hour.

At 7:25 PM, exactly five days after placing the order, the MacBook was finally mine. I played Ganesh Chalisa and Hanuman Chalisa, took it all in, and then got to work. The dream was no longer on its way. It was here.

And the dream is on✳
I saw these beautiful machines in a store years ago and wondered what it would feel like to own one. Now I know.

Somewhere between
the waiting and the unboxing,
a dream came true.

My MacBook Air M5. My story. One very happy Uday.
